Focșani was a customs city, which united Wallachia with Moldova. He had an extremely important role more than 160 years ago, in the realization of the hisotorical act of the Uion of Romanian Principalities. At one point it was discussed that Focșani would become the capital of Romanian Principalieties, unfortunatly it did not happend because the city did not have the appropiate infrastructure nor the notority as other big cities, at leas that is what the historians are saying.
